DIY Project | Maggie Holmes | Mini Album Charms

Hey there everyone, it’s Kathleen back with you. Today I have a cute little DIY project to share with you for which I used the Sunny Days collection. This project is perfect for using up some scraps and it’s also a great little gift for friends (especially scrapbook and planner friends)!

These cute little mini album charms are perfect to add them to your planners, pouches, or basically whatever you like. And they are quite easy to make too.

How to make your own mini album charms

• Start by creating the cover. This works the same way as with any other mini album. I used two 1.5″x2″ pieces of chipboard for the covers and a 0.5″x2″ piece for the spine.
• Cover them with a piece of patterned paper (approx. 4.5″x3″).
• For the inside, cut 32 pieces of regular copy paper (approx. 2.75″x2″) and fold them in half.
• Create 8 signatures of 4 papers each and bind them together. You can also make this easier for yourself and simply glue them together.
• Glue the first and last page of your inside pages to the insides of the mini album cover.
• Pierce a hole in the spine at approx. 0.25″ from the top (this measurement depends on the ring size of your chain).
• Attach your chain with the fastener to your mini album.

You can them embellish the covers of your charms to your liking. I used the same “recipe” for each: a chipboard sticker and one phrase label sticker from the clear sticker book.

For two of the covers I used papers from the 6″x8″ paper pad. It is perfect for small projects like this because the patterns are on a smaller scale than on the 12″x12″ papers.

You could also use patterned papers for your inside pages, just remember that they are thicker than regular copy paper so you won’t need as many pages.
