Monochrome Layout Inspiration | Sunny Days & Flourish

Hey everyone, it’s Kathleen here again and today I have another layout to share with you. For this page I was inspired by two things: the colors in my photo and the floral images in the Sunny Days and Flourish collections.

Color Palette

I decided to work with a monochromatic color palette on this layout. What that means is that I could use all different shades of pinks, as well as neutrals like white and black. Plus, I personally also consider gold a neutral because I just have to add it to almost any project ;).

To make the pinks in my photo really pop, I decided to use the black and white striped Happy Place paper from Sunny Days for my background. I applied a little bit of white gesso to the center of the paper to fade out some of the pattern and also to prepare it for a little bit of watercolor.

To add another pop of color, I used a few different shades of pink spray inks and smudged them onto the gessoed background. Next, I layered my photo cluster on top of this section.

Embellishing

Behind the photo I used a doily from my stash and a wood veneer frame I had left from the Flourish collection. I also had some fussy cut flowers left from this layout and since they fit the color scheme and theme perfectly, I had to add them.

The golden puffy leave stickers are from the Flourish collection, too, and I think they look gorgeous combined with the black, white and pinks. As does the gold embossed die cut butterfly!

For the title I used a vellum ephemera piece from Flourish and then added a clear sticker from the Sunny Days sticker book as part of my journaling.

For some final touches I added golden and pink paint splatters, some heart stickers and a few Sunny Days rhinestone stickers. Oh, and I did cheat a little bit and added a yellow charm to the left of my photo. But then again you could argue that the yellow is another shade of gold, haha! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I hope you like this layout and maybe you try your hand at creating a monochromatic(ish) layout, too! Thanks for stopping by!
Xo, Kathleen
